Why this bracket?

  • 4 life-drain payoffs + 3 sacrifice outlets — a repeatable table-draining engine — but the goldfish sim wins around turn 9 (Bracket 2 "Core" pace, ~8+ turns), not the ~6-7 of an Upgraded deck, so this theme engine alone does not floor Bracket 3
  • Borderline verdict — close to B3: tuned 4 life-drain payoffs + 3 sacrifice outlets — a repeatable table-draining engine held at B2 by our Core-pace gate (goldfish ~turn 9) — it breaks no Bracket 3 rule; we promote a 0-Game-Changer engine only at turn 6 or faster
  • High optimization — score 22/75 (9 card-advantage sources, 8 interaction spells, 1 fast-mana sources) — raises this deck above its hard floor
  • Engine accuracy reference: 100% bracket-in-range across 36 validation decks (engine beats Claude Sonnet/Opus/Haiku on bracket-exact).

How it compares

Against the 5 Commander 2021 decks we analyzed, this is 3rd strongest — power 4.2 versus a set average of 4.2. That is 0.5 below the 64-precon library average of 4.7. Its Tipping Point lands on turn 4, the same as the library median.

6 staples this deck does not already run — all legal in Willowdusk, Essence Seer's color identity, none over $20, and none of them a Game Changer, so none forces a Bracket 3 floor on its own. Adding cards can still move the bracket: paste the updated list back into the calculator to re-check.
